Workforce

We take pride in completing all our projects to the highest standard, which is why we have built our business with in-house personnel.  This ensures we both meet and exceed client expectations for every build.

Mallard Contracting currently employs 70+ personnel and we are committed to employing Aboriginal Tradespersons and other Aboriginal employees who will undertake further training.  We exceeded expectations on previous projects with 30-40% Aboriginal employment.

Our range of skilled people include:

  • Project Managers
  • Engineers
  • Supervisors
  • Carpenters
  • Trades Assistants
  • Traffic Controllers
  • HSE Personnel
  • Planners
  • Plumbers
  • Electricians
  • Administrative Support

We aim to ensure continuity of our core team members and supervisors across Mallard Contracting’s projects, and services.

By permanently employing our core maintenance teams and implementing a range of retention strategies and incentives, we have access to an integrated and trusted group of trade and administrative personnel.

Indigenous Engagement

We aim to build confidence in Indigenous communities, by creating opportunities for employment, economic independence and cultural preservation.

Mallard Contracting is proudly one of the very few Aboriginal construction companies within Western Australia and with over 30 years’ experience in the industry, one of our strongest philosophies is to employ the services of Aboriginal Australians wherever possible within the company.

This is with hope that employees are able to apply these skills to further assist in projects and to develop a better standard of living within their own communities.

The company can provide formal traineeships and apprenticeships to Aboriginal Australians under our licensed builders, licensed plumbers and licensed electricians. The completion of these certified trades enriches and enables the Aboriginal Community whilst also assisting the company in its plans for growth and skill sustainability.

Mallard Contracting supports other Aboriginal owned businesses wherever possible and regularly engages with Countryman (our PPE provider), Gascoyne Essentials (inhouse transport), Gee Gie (consultancy and business support), Hicks Mining and Civil (earthworks) and Maarli Services Pty Ltd (construction and consultancy).
